The AI Coach: advice to help you progress
The AI Coach is a personal assistant that joins your games: on request, it gives players personalised advice. This advice is produced by an artificial intelligence that takes into account the competitive context and the economic situation of the player's company. During the game, each player can ask the AI Coach for advice; at the end of the game, they receive a personal review that analyses their choices. The coach never plays in the player's place: it explains what is happening and why, but the player is the one who decides.
The AI Coach is included only in paid plans, with a maximum number of calls depending on the chosen plan.
AI Coach: what is the teaching value?
- Immediate, individual feedback: each player gets an explanation of their situation when they need it, without waiting for the debriefing.
- Management concepts linked to real figures: cash, break-even point, margin, production capacity… are explained using the actual figures of their company.
- An explanation, not an answer: the coach never says which decision to take; each piece of advice ends with a question that makes them think.
- Support for the trainer, who can read the end-of-game reviews and so prepare the group debriefing.
When to use it?
Advice during the game
Players ask for it with the “Coach” button, within the limit set by the game's creator (for example 3 pieces of advice per player). Each piece of advice starts from the priority of the round calculated by the game, explains a management concept, and ends with an open question.
An end-of-game review
For each player or team: a real positive point, what explains the ranking, three or four management concepts illustrated by moments of the game and by the financial statements, then one or two ideas for progress in the next game.
Three levels of advice
The game's creator chooses the coach's level according to their audience. Here is, for each one, how a piece of advice might begin in the same situation: cash falling while sales are rising.
Beginner
To discover management: secondary school, first sessions.
Each term is defined simply, with an everyday image, before being used. One concept per piece of advice.
“Cash is the money available in your company's account, like a family's purse. This round, you sold more, but you also bought a lot of stock: your purse went from €18,000 to €9,000…”
Intermediate
For those who know the basics: vocational and undergraduate courses.
Concepts are no longer redefined: the coach shows how they connect, from a decision to its effects on the rest of the company.
“Your working capital requirement is rising: by lowering your price, you gained volume, so you produce more, so you pay out more stock and wages before you get paid…”
Expert
To go further: end of a management degree, professional training.
Technical vocabulary, indicators calculated from the figures of the game (with the calculation), scenarios to compare.
“Your contribution margin is 42,000 − 25,200 = €16,800, a rate of 40%. With €14,000 of fixed costs, your margin of safety is only 17%. If your volumes fall by 10%…”
For which teaching uses?
- Ask players to answer in writing the question that ends each piece of advice, before they decide.
- At the debriefing, compare the coach's review with their own analysis: where do they agree? What did it see that they had missed?
- Check a figure from the review in the financial statements: an AI text can be wrong, and checking it is a good exercise.
An expert and impartial coach
- During the game, the coach only sees what the player can see: no advantage over the other teams.
- To write the final review of a game, it takes into account what all the players played.
- It receives no real name or address, only the pseudonym and the game's figures, and it writes in the language of the game (French, English or Spanish).
- You choose who writes the texts: Mistral (French company, data processed in the European Union), offered by default, or Claude (Anthropic), or no coach.
- Without the coach, the game remains complete: the priority of the round, the accountant's advice and the review are calculated by the game.
