Accessibility — Entreprises-en-Jeux
Entreprises-en-Jeux is used in the classroom: every student must be able to play, including those who use a screen reader, navigate with the keyboard only, or have difficulty seeing colours or small print. This page explains what we do to make this possible, and where we stand.
Last updated: 9 October 2026.
What is the RGAA?
The RGAA (référentiel général d'amélioration de l'accessibilité, the French general accessibility improvement framework) is the official French standard for digital accessibility, published by the French government. It is based on the international rules of the W3C, the WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines), at level AA, and details them in 106 checkable criteria: sufficient contrast between text and background, full keyboard navigation, images and form fields described for screen readers, no endlessly flashing content, and so on.
Public service websites in France, including those of schools, must comply with it. Entreprises-en-Jeux is not required to, but uses it as a reference, because the game is designed for classrooms.
What has been done
On 9 October 2026, an accessibility audit was carried out on 15 pages of the website and the game (presentation, game creator area, player area with the decision form, results, guides, frequently asked questions), in all four appearances (blue or green, light or dark mode):
- automated check of every WCAG level AA rule with the reference tool axe-core;
- a keyboard-only walkthrough of every page, checking that the active element always remains visible.
The problems found have been fixed:
- contrast: secondary text, increase indicators, warnings and buttons now all have a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1 against their background, the required minimum;
- screen readers: the language selector has a name, every page marks its main content area, and its language (French, English or Spanish) is declared for correct pronunciation;
- keyboard: scrolling tables can be reached with the keyboard;
- motion: the stock shortage alert now flashes for only a few seconds, and not at all if the visitor has asked their device to reduce motion.
After these fixes, the tool no longer detects any error, in any of the four appearances.
In addition, the demonstration video has subtitles in French, English and Spanish.
Compliance status
An automated tool only finds some accessibility issues, about a third according to studies. The website has not yet undergone a full audit of the 106 RGAA criteria, carried out by hand by an auditor: it therefore cannot be declared compliant, and its compliance status has not yet been assessed.
Not yet checked:
- downloadable documents in PDF format (guides);
- the charts in the dashboards, for people who use a screen reader;
- playing a full game with a screen reader.
Reporting a problem
If you encounter an obstacle while using the website or the game, with a screen reader, with the keyboard or for any other reason, write to us using the Contact form (link at the bottom of every page), describing the page concerned and what got in your way: we will look for a solution and, if needed, provide the information in another form.
